Changing Lives

According to the Oxford Australian pocket dictionary, change is becoming or making different, different from previous state.

It is pretty obvious that our lives are in a constant state of change (a bit of an oxymoron here, I know!) - circumstances change and their effect on us can be immense: we might change our personality, our views on various subjects, the way we communicate with others. No point in resisting it, changes are all around us.

However, every now and then we make a conscious decision and we try to change things according to our will. For example, we might want to quit smoking – and so we need to intentionally change our habit of picking up a cigarette whenever an urge arises. Or we might want to move to another country – in order to do so, we might have to learn a new language, or new social behaviours: we change the way we interact with other people.

And most of us feel that there are areas in our lives that need improvements. Some resolutions are being made… And how do we manifest them? We need to make an effort to change. Some changes don’t come by themselves – it's up to us to help them come about.

This section is all about describing my personal journey, how I’m intentionally changing. It’s not going to be written in any chronological order – instead, I’ll be telling you how a certain event has changed my life and how you can maybe change your life too, if you’re interested. I’ll give some references and would love to know if anyone has more information or a similar experience – please write down your comments!
