Coffee Break
Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 5:41AM I decided to give myself a break from doing the Raw Cafe days. I've been playing with the idea for a while, when realising I'm not enjoying them as much as I used to.
The cafe has started in a moment of INSPIRATION, followed by many many moments of support from every direction. Initially I was full of motivation, moved towards it joyfully so nothing was an EFFORT - although I did need a NUDGE from a few friends and supporters along the way to REALLY make it happen... Thank you everyone!
It was rewarding to see so many people coming from far away places and enjoying the food I served them, and busy days in the cafe were filled with fun, fulfillment and joy.
And now the point has come when I know it's time for me to move on.
The last cafe day was EXTRA busy - people were waiting for a table for WAY TOO LONG, then it took me a long time to serve them - and I realised that my purpose, which was always TO GIVE PEOPLE A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE OF RAW FOOD is not being met anymore!
Clearly a sign for me to take a break and wait for the next inspiration to come and sweep me to my next adventure...
Gratitude engulfs me and I really want to thank again all you amazing people that supported me throughout this endeavour - Christie, Bishnu, Matthew, Hugh and everyone at Taste Organic, Jacq, Mark, Brock, Tsung, Tony and Libbi, Joy, Julie, Phil, Samantha, everyone form the Vegan Society, Mishae, Juliana, Adam, Danny and literally every customer that's been to the cafe -

Adam Sparke and Danny Gutman have been raving about your raw food desserts. I am still gutted that I missed out on coming to the shop. Good luck with your new venture Maya. Btw, if you are ever planning on giving classes I and 3 very eager girlfriends are ready to sign up!
Just found your website. Would love to go to your rawfood cafe. But I guess we are 1 year too late. :)
Is there a good store for rawfoodists in Sydney? We would like to buy raw cacao nibs and such.
