Finding Inspiration

What do I mean by “Inspiration”?

Inspiration is what makes us elevated, it stimulates our mind and makes us strive to change for the better. It triggers us to feel, to act, to push ourselves higher.

I got my latest inspiration from a visit to a book store.

My eyes came across a raw cookbook (I should probably refer to it as a food-preparation book as there’s no cooking involved really…) and something within me clicked. Almost immediately. I’m not sure as to why there and then - the idea of opening a raw food café crossed my mind a few times beforehand – however, this time, the “missing ingredient” – the inspirational sensation – made all the difference. This time, it wasn’t an idea anymore. It was a calling. It was a push to act.

Sometimes, though, I seek inspiration actively. When I feel like I need a deeper understanding, when I feel I want to keep on track of the beautiful game that I experience as my life. When there’s craving for a spiritual lift… That’s when I call some intentional resources to my present.

It can be a book that influenced me that I’ll just pop-open at a random page to see what forgotten treasure it wanted to remind me of. It can be an affirmation card that I’ll draw out of a deck (I have one or two inspirational card-decks laying around just for this purpose). It can be repeating a mantra that I was taught not too long ago. It can be listening to music, or to the birds outside.

Inspiration comes by surrounding myself with amazing people, people that are changing their worlds, shaping the society we are living in, shifting the awareness levels of the entire universe. Now THAT is inspiring!

So, as far as inspiration goes, the important thing is to remind yourself that life is not just about waking up, performing your duties, finding pleasure in some form or another, and then going back to sleep just to repeat the same process the following day.

Inspiration should remind you that there is something more to life.

And don’t ask me what it is! If you haven’t found it yet – try some intentional inspiration to help you figure it out for yourself!

A beautiful quote by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, reminds me of the fact that life is so much more than what we are constantly engaged with. It goes something like that:

“We are not human beings on a spiritual journey – we’re spiritual beings on a human journey”

And if that doesn’t inspire you – well, I don’t know what will…    ;)

Maya, you came out of nowhere last year..... at least in my world. One day you were there interested in raw food and today - WELL done with all you have achieved in such a short time.
As for finding inspiration, YOU are the inspiration. Keep the cafe' going, it can only get bigger and better. joy.....fully
